Under my bed, hiding in my closet, free floating high above Fayette County…where did my weekend go? Ran miles, drove miles… I’m feeling tired and despite it being nearly nine p.m., I’ve got auctions I’d like to post, things to put on Craigslist, a few more loads of clothes to wash, dinner to put away…does it end? Violet is cross-legged to my right going over her SAT information and Colby is at my immediate left filling out a gargantuan packet on the U.S. Senate. Me? Writing a useless blog and further procrastinating my work.
Friday evening, after Zombieland (fun movie!) I got to spend unhurried time in the bookstore, or sanctuary. I am amusing to watch because I like to walk past books and touch them, run my fingers across them- I’ll pick them up and breathe in whilst turning the pages. I love the bookstore. Better yet, amid all of the bad music that wails and suffers along the atmosphere, Muse comes on
Sweet bliss! Poor Barnes, Poor Noble- in the end they get very little money from me because I save a list of all the tomes I covet in my cell phone. Today I went to amazon.com and bought them all used and spent 23.00 rather than 80.00! I’m happily cheap, thank you, and proud of it! Can’t wait to read Of Bees and Mist. Actually, that is the only piece of actual literature I perused- I shopped from a section I’ve never been to…the world of Self-Help. Haha- yes, I bought a few ‘help me help you’ books.

That’s me in the courthouse toilet on Friday.
Anyone see the previews for Where the Wild Things Are? I’m getting giddy waiting for the premiere on October 16th. I told the kids that I’m going to take them out of school to see it “first” and they laughed at me. There are some key books in my children’s childhood that I hold dear as well as remember the words…WTWTA, Goodnight Moon, Suess’s ‘Pale Green Pants’ and The Missing Piece which is supa dupa special. Good times. Anyone got a four years old to loan me?
Was very impressed by the turn-out at Oktoberfest Crooked Euros Meet at Sendell’s today- it was frigid (honestly- my nose was red) and the grounds were packed and registration even closed- many VW’s from Ohio, NY, etc. were there- aircooled, watercooled, rows and rows of shiny Euro loveliness. I’ve been anti-show, but this was cool as far as locality goes. Pics soon.
Starting to get very fidgety and nervous about the Columbus Marathon in exactly two weeks. I honestly don’t even want to run it much right now so I’d call it a looming, foreboding feeling.
Time to get to those chores… more later!
